Debbie Walsh for County Supervisor

Debbie Walsh
Crime rates are rising dramatically in Riverside County. It is crucial to provide our local Law Enforcement and Fire Department personnel with the staff, tools and resources they need to keep our families, schools and businesses safe. Staffing levels for these agencies must be increased as the population of Riverside County increases. The new jail in Indio must be fully funded and staffed to provide much needed bed space to house criminals. Too many are released back into our neighborhoods each day.

Homelessness has increased over 21% in Riverside County in the past year impacting our neighborhoods, businesses and parks where our children play. The current methods of dealing with homelessness are not working. Homeless camps are on the rise in our watersheds, rivers, creeks and dry brush areas as well as our shopping centers, parks and play areas. Our rivers, streams and ground water are becoming polluted. Fires from people living in homeless camps are threatening our lives and homes. I will work to increase state funding, create policies and expand supportive services to create an effective task force to deal with the homeless crises in Riverside County so those who desperateyly need our help can receive it.

Massive logistics warehouses are being built next to our homes, churches and playgrounds, polluting our air, destroying our neighborhoods and creating massive congestion on our freeways and local roads.

Commute times are increasing as high paying jobs are created in nearby counties. Our Economic Development Department has become stagnant and needs to become revitalized to attract high paying corporate and manufacturing jobs in Riverside County.

As the widow of a Vietnam Veteran, Debbie understands all too well the importance for Veterans to receive all the services that they earned and deserve.

As County Supervisor, Debbie promises to work hard so that families like yours can have better paying jobs, cleaner air, shorter commute times, safer neighborhoods, stronger economic growth, great schools, quality healthcare, veterans benefits, and well-maintained roads and infrastructure.

Debbie On The Issues
Public Safety

Crime rates are rising dramatically in Riverside County. Providing our local Law Enforcement and Fire Personnel with the staff, tools and resources they need to keep our families, schools and businesses safe is my highest priority.

Homelessness

Homelessness has increased over 21% in Riverside County over the past year alone. Homelessness is destroying our quality of life and impacting our neighborhoods, businesses and parks where our children play. Creating an effective task force to help combat the homeless crises is one of my highest priorities.

Transportation

Commute times are increasing as high paying jobs are created in nearby Counties, while Riverside County produces few high paying jobs. We must reduce traffic congestion, improve our infrastructure, and expand public transportation.
We MUST bring high paying real jobs to Riverside County. Jobs that pay a living wage.

Veterans

Debbie understands the needs of Veterans as the recent widow of a Vietnam Veteran. We must never forget what our Veterans sacraficed for our freedom. Debbie will work hard to get Veterans the health care that they deserve, provide more housing and services for homeless Veterans and fund programs that asist all Veterans with services, benefits and job training.

Logistics Warehouses

Debbie is in the forefront in the fight against logistics warehouses in Riverside County. These massive warehouses that are sometimes over 1 million sq. ft. are being approved and built directly next to homes, churches and playgrounds. They operate 24-7 with air pollution and noise pollution that put our health at risk. Riverside County has some of the worst air pollution in the nation.
